Some Ukrainians also speak Russian, but many prefer to be served in Ukrainian, and for a hearing or medical consent it is safer to work in the person's stronger language. Ukrainian is written in its own Cyrillic alphabet, which differs from Russian in several letters, so a translator reads the source correctly rather than assuming it is Russian. We translate internal and foreign passports, birth and marriage certificates, diplomas and school certificates, employment and pension records, and medical and vaccination histories.
Place and personal names are transliterated to match your passport and IRCC paperwork, following Ukrainian rather than Russian romanisation of city names where that matters to you, and we note the unusual stamps or reissued dates that Soviet-era or wartime documents sometimes carry. A translation is issued by a certified translator or supported by a sworn affidavit before a commissioner of oaths, and acceptance ultimately depends on the receiving institution such as IRCC, a provincial licensing body, a school board or an employer.
