Interpreters on court matters are qualified to be sworn before Canadian courts. Where the language qualifies, we assign interpreters accredited on provincial court interpreter rosters (such as Ontario’s Ministry of the Attorney General registry) or certified by CTTIC-affiliated bodies such as ATIO.
IRCC expects translations by a certified translator (a member of a provincial regulatory body such as ATIO, under CTTIC) or a translation accompanied by an affidavit. Our certified translations are issued with a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy and a supporting affidavit where required, reducing the most common cause of translation-related follow-up requests.
