Tajik is close to Dari and Iranian Persian but not identical in vocabulary or pronunciation, so we confirm that a speaker wants Tajik specifically rather than another Persian variety before assigning an interpreter. Tajik is spoken in Tajikistan and written in the Cyrillic alphabet, unlike Iranian Persian and Dari, which use the Perso-Arabic script. Tajik civil records are issued in Cyrillic, frequently alongside Russian, so a single page can carry both and we translate the whole record. We match the transliteration of names to your passport, since Cyrillic names are romanised in more than one way and a discrepancy invites a query on a file.
We translate Soviet-era and modern birth, marriage and death certificates, passports, the employment record book known as the trudovaya knizhka, diplomas with their transcripts, and notarial papers, and we keep the English translation formatted beside the original so an officer can compare a Cyrillic stamp or a Russian entry against it.
