Mozambique issues civil records in Portuguese, so a Mozambican family's birth, marriage and school records are translated into English from Portuguese, while South African records usually arrive in English already and the Shangane element is the interpreting.
Shangane is written in the Latin alphabet, with slightly different spelling conventions on each side of the border, and we keep a name consistent across a file.
