Pampangan Interpreters in Canada

Prism Linguistics arranges Kapampangan interpreters and translation across Canada. Kapampangan, sometimes called Pampango, is a language of the Pampanga region in the central Philippines, distinct from Tagalog and the other Philippine languages. Canada has a large Filipino community, but most use Tagalog or English, so specific Kapampangan demand is smaller and often involves older speakers.

Pampangan Court, Medical and IRCC Interpreters

Kapampangan is its own language, not a dialect of Tagalog or Filipino, so tell us at booking whether the speaker really needs Kapampangan rather than Tagalog. Many Kapampangan speakers are comfortable in English or Tagalog as well, and an interpreter in the specific language matters most for older speakers in medical, legal or settlement appointments where nuance counts.

The live settings are mainly healthcare, community services, family sponsorship interviews with IRCC and the occasional hearing. The interpreter renders speech in full and neutrally, and we arrange on-site attendance in the larger centres and telephone or video across Canada. We are a private agency, not a court-appointed vendor.

Common settings include legal and court interpreting, medical and hospital interpreting, IRCC and Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) interviews, and police and enforcement work. See all on-site interpreting options or start a free quote.

Certified Pampangan Translation

Kapampangan is written in a Latin alphabet, but civil and official records in the Philippines are issued in English or Filipino, so a certified translation out of Kapampangan is rarely needed. Because Philippine documents are commonly in English already, much of the work is certifying or translating those records rather than translating from Kapampangan.

For Philippine records - PSA birth, marriage and death certificates, NBI police clearances, and school and professional documents - we provide a certified translation where the document is not in English, or a certification for a receiving body that requires one, with a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy or a sworn affidavit before a commissioner of oaths. Names are matched to the passport spelling; acceptance ultimately depends on the receiving institution.

For documents rather than spoken interpreting, see certified Pampangan translation, our full Pampangan translation services, or general document translation. Every translation moves through our TEP workflow — translation, editing and proofreading by separate linguists — with free revisions.

About the Pampangan Language

Pampangan (Kapampangan) is a Philippine language spoken by around 2 million people in Pampanga and Tarlac provinces of central Luzon. The Kapampangan-Canadian community is part of the broader Filipino-Canadian population - one of Canada's largest immigrant communities - in Toronto, Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Calgary. Our Pampangan translation work is mostly IRCC civil documents from central Luzon Filipino sources, alongside academic transcripts and family-sponsorship paperwork. Pampangan uses the Latin alphabet.

Pampangan Interpreter FAQs

Is Kapampangan the same as Tagalog?

No. Kapampangan is a separate Philippine language. Many speakers also use Tagalog or English, so tell us whether the speaker specifically needs Kapampangan when you book.

My Philippine documents are in English. Do I need a translation?

Often not out of Kapampangan, since Philippine records are usually in English or Filipino. Where a translation or certification is needed we provide one with a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy; acceptance ultimately depends on the receiving institution.

Can you help an older Kapampangan speaker at a medical appointment?

Yes. Older speakers may be most comfortable in Kapampangan, so we arrange an interpreter, on site in the larger centres or by telephone or video elsewhere, who renders speech in full. We are a private agency, not a court-appointed vendor.

How do I get a quote for a Pampangan interpreter or translation?

Tell us the language, the setting and the date through our quote form or by phone. We return a written quote with the exact price and turnaround, usually within 60 minutes during business hours, before you commit.
