Nukuoro is a Polynesian outlier surrounded by Micronesian languages, and its speakers are a small, close community, almost all of whom also use English or Pohnpeian. Because so few people speak it, an interpreter cannot be guaranteed on demand, and where one is available the session runs by telephone or video.
