Standard Italian is what most formal appointments use, but a large part of the Canadian community, especially older speakers, grew up with a regional variety such as Calabrese, Sicilian, Neapolitan or Venetian, and may be far more at ease in dialect than in standard Italian. Certified Italian translation is a large share of Italian files. Italian uses the Latin alphabet, so the work is accuracy and format rather than transliteration, and civil records issued by an Italian comune carry stamps and endorsements that have to be translated in full. We deliver a complete English or French translation with a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy, or a sworn affidavit before a commissioner of oaths where the receiving body asks for one.
